I received an e mail from City Hall a short while ago advising that the Finance Committee meeting that was scheduled for tonight, March 20, has been cancelled.
Looks like another finance meeting was cancelled on the 14th of May and I was told by Mrs. Slawson that the new recorder is now the old recorder as she has resigned. I hope she is at peace with that if this is true, and I trust it is.
Seems almost no one showed up to the meeting from the committee. If that is the case after not having a meeting recently and this recent audit release, they all really needed to be there to work some stuff out I am sure. I hope this committee reaches out to people like one of the locals, Kaul Wilson or even Sam Childs and ask them to participate in the future meetings. People who care about the community that we all know would seem like a fairly good idea. The personnel committee reached out to me and even with some of our disagreements on the mayor, we are working together for the common good and that feels right to me. The future is too important to goof off right now in this time of grave concern. Just agree to disagree where you have to do it, but get things accomplished.

Billy, what do you mean "the new recorder is now the old recorder" and what is it she should be a peace with?

I don't know for sure, but things are starting to look pretty grim for the city of coopertown.I'm not sure what is going on but I have a bad feeling in my gut.Reminds me of the feeling I was overcome with when I ran into our mayor at the station on the freeway, felt pretty creepy the way he was looking at me and my family.I've always been pretty good at reading people within the first ten minutes of conversation,It has cost me over the years when I didn't follow my gut instinct and I have paid the price. On another note,I was run off the road on my way home from work on 49 by an idiot coming from the other direction passing cars while climbing a hill, thank god the person in front of me hit the brakes and swerved onto the shoulder,it could have been ugly.Love your site,Paul, take care,Robert E.
