Robertson County would resume governmental responsibility for the area of Coopertown. The County zoning is in place for the operation of the landfill.

This report makes some valued points! But then it does have some inaccurate information. Billy Pugh ran for alderman Ward 2 in 2006 not 2004.

I encourage everyone to go and vote! EVERYONE NEEDS TO VOTE TO CLEAN UP THE CONDITION OUR CITY IS IN. There are only two aldermen safe this election and that is Muhlstadt and Anderson.

This appears to be pre-election propaganda. If I was to do your poll I would have to make all three opportunities. The two most important ones will be lawsuits and mismanagement. I feel this is not going to be a clean campaign it will possible get down and dirty.

I would also like to encourage everyone to become involved and attend the Board and Alderman meetings there is information there that involves you!

Attend the Finance meetings it is your money they are spending and you need to know where it comes from and how it is spent. And you have a voice!

Attend the Planning and BZA meetings cause theses are very important in what is built next to you and your community.

If you don’t attend and make your voices and wishes know then it will continue to side down the slippery slope with no hope of retrieval.

And before you go on the attack!!! YES I helped get the Boot out Coopertown started and yes I took it from start to End and yes I also ran for Alderman Ward one. Also I do have a lawsuit against Coopertown. But some people do change there minds and change of heart.

well isn't that special!

I did not run in '04 but yes I did in '06.

Also, I did vote to dissolve the city because it looked unecessary to me at the time, and I don't agree that the landfill will just be allowed to come to town without us having a winnable fight. For one thing, those people living in the houses next to it will get lawyers if no one else will. I feel like they can deal with it pretty well if we don't exist anymore. I am sure that they will look at their land purchase agreements and be able to see where someone might have sold them a "pig in a poke"! There are professionals living there who are not stupid except maybe they were a little bit too trusting to buy next to a proposed landfill.

Of course while we exist as a charter city we could just take a small amount of it like some goverments have done to preserve their way of life and destroy the old permit in the process. That would be the end of it.

Thank goodness things like caves and wetlands are hard to fill in legally. Since the permit was originally issued there have been upgrades to the EPA. An operator would have to notify the state of their INTENT to open up the permit and that would start an evaluation and wa la, lots of warning to get active and find the loopholes that work for us.

Billy, I too noticed your name under item 22 Petition To Surrender the Charter and noticed your name is the only name mentioned in this chronology of events concerning the landfill. I immediately thought "political assassination". Why not mention everyone who signed the petition? I'm not sure when this was posted on the city's web site, but I suspect it was between Sept 11, 2006 ( the last item mention in the chronology ) and the Nov 2006 election as the author had mentioned you were a "candidate" for alderman. I suspect a supporter of your opponent inserted you name on item 22 after the chronology was authored. This is why it appears you ran for alderman in 2004 as this item addresses the petition in that year.

Why is it a forgone conclusion that the dump won't operate as long as we have a town?

How did Springfield and Nashville get past that hurdle'?
