emtivkwilson, I know you are just being facetious but the fact is, with the silence from city hall, people are inclined to believe just such a theory as you presented. Now that Gordon has given an answer, I'm going to take this conversation back to where it belongs under the comptrollers post in General Conversation:

Paul...here's a very possible answer to the missing money from city court....Gordon , Danny Crosby and/or Sgt. Cole have since received a lump sum "one-time bonus" ($2,230 bonus at that) at the expense of all these citizens (whom most probably didn't belong in court to start with). That's a reasonable possibility for where the money went.
Wilson you dont even want to say I had anything to do with that.

Gordon, he was just showing how ridiculous people can be without having the luxury of the the mayor responding to their questions and concerns. It's going to bite him big time, at election, if he keeps up his silence. I for one, know you could, in no way, be involved any dishonesty of any sort. You just happen to hang out with the wrong crowd which makes you have the appearance of guilty by association. You need to consider that observation as election time becomes nearer.

Well, I think in the case of Gordon we should not be looking to him for answers to these questions. He is not in position to answer if he did know.
I think that things are mighty confusing down at city hall and this money problem must have been reported properly. Let us hope that amount of money that was stolen was reported when it happened or that truly does look bad as to things like "just when were you going to report it and why did you not"?
I cannot imagine any story or political spin that would justify not reporting the theft properely. Even if your afraid of the hay your opponent can make off in an election or otherwise, it is not as bad as not caring enough about accountability to report it missing.
What difference did it make that the keys to the door could have been more properly supervised, when once we realized we had a security issue? We should have just corrected the problem, reported the missing money to the appropriate authorities, and moved on. If the doors were locked to that room where the money was kept we can assume that there was not a break in. If the two clerks can attest to it's presence when they left at night, probably in front of witnesses like the mayor or an officer, then we can probably eliminate them as suspect and the list narrows accordingly.

Appropriate quote you came up with Billy. Because all else has not been eliminated, we don't have the truth. Just "remaining" questions as Gordon referred to.
